Under Construction
As anyone who’s ever shopped for vegan candles or a PETA t-shirt knows, you have to hunt around the Internet to find those things—and you have to visit more than one web site to acquire them. With your help, The Animals Voice Shopping Mall will be the Amazon.com of animal rights and vegan products!
Some people enjoy shopping so much, they don’t mind adding a couple of dollars to the purchase price — if it’s for a good cause. THE UNITED WAY FOR ANIMALS, a feature of the Animal Rights & Vegan Shopping Mall, will allow them to easily do just that. They can choose to donate to a specific campaign or a particular organization, or simply to whatever is most needy at the time.
There are online vegan stores, for sure, but none has it all. Some sell clothes and personal care items, others sell dog and cat food and household goods, some sell all those things, but none sell all those things AND things like ethical wildlife photography, or the CDs of activist musicians, or horse feed, for that matter.
And none, as far as we know, sell the merchandise produced by organizations to advertise and promote their internal campaigns or goals. For example, no one site sells all the tee-shirts and bumperstickers and posters and leaflets that, say, PETA sells, or that HSUS sells, or that some small grassroots group in Florida might sell.
We want to change that. We envision The Animals Voice hosting the Animal Rights & Vegan Shopping Mall and selling it all — in one place — with proceeds and donations going to supporting organizations in the trenches.
Features will be:
Food/Beverage, Clothing/Shoes, Personal Care, House & Garden, Art/Multimedia, & A Lot More!
Imagine an online store that sells everything that is animal-friendly — and not just the usual fare, you know, like plastic shoes and hoof-free marshmallows, but all things green and cruelty-free. Naturally, it would sell vegan food, vitamins, household goods and health and personal care items not tested on animals, as well as products for the home and garden. But more than that, it will sell photography, movies, art, music.
Now add to that all the things sold by all the organizations working for animals around the world. In other words, if you want to buy a tee-shirt from a group in Bolivia that’s dedicated to ending zoos, for example, you will find it at the Animals Voice Shopping Mall. Clothing, books, bumperstickers, campaign materials, etc., will be purchased right from the Mall — instead of going to each organization in search of that perfect slogan or leaflet.
But don’t stop there. Suppose this super mall for animal rights and vegan products also had a UNITED WAY FOR ANIMALS wherein visitors could donate an added amount to their purchase to a specific organization and/or campaign? Let’s make it easy to be a cruelty-free or green shopper, as well as a supporter of a particular effort. Besides, anyone who can afford to shop can afford to donate a little extra to an organization or activist in need, right?
