Laura Moretti is the Founder and Editor of ‘The Animals Voice.’ She is also an author, animal rescuer, and lobbyist, as well as holds the title of various other forms of animal defense activism. For 10 years, Laura rescued horses for a sanctuary she operated in northern California. She has been an animal rights activist since the age of 10 and was inducted into the Animal Rights Hall of Fame in 2004.

Lisa began volunteering for her county Democratic Party in 2017, working in its office to give people information on local races and candidates and organizing the office to run more efficiently. When Lisa discovered The Animals Voice in 2018, she didn’t hesitate to offer her proofreading services. She was also encouraged to write for the magazine—and found her voice in writing profiles of local animal sanctuaries, as well as penning essays.

Susan Barzallo is the News and Associate Editor of The Animals Voice. She was initially a biology major, but her inability to harm lab animals led her to a career in education. As an elementary and preschool teacher for twenty-five years, she tried to instill in young children respect and appreciation for the individuality, intelligence, and wonder of animals.
