Our Founder Laura Moretti took a three-month break in magazine publishing to teach herself web design; she already designed and produced the pages of The Animals Voice Magazine, but times were changing and the Internet was calling, so it was time to learn web design.

In 2000, and with a generous grant from businessman and animal rights activist Sudhir Amembal, Laura was able to hole up in her house and learn the finer art of HTML and PHP code. The Animals Voice went online in 2000 (more than twenty years ago).

Sudhir himself has been actively involved in animal defense for decades. He has served as the past presidents of the Utah Humane Society and Wasatch Humane, as well as for The Animals Voice Magazine. Sudhir has been president of Psychologists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. He lives in Salt Lake City with his wife, Kirin, from where he co-founded Amigos de Los Animales, an organization that has undertaken an extensive campaign to aid suffering animals in Mexico. Sudhir was also the publisher of The Animals Voice Magazine for a while and served on its Advisory Board, too.

The Animals Voice Magazine is available in print on-demand, but also for free in digital form. All of our publications are available in the BACK ISSUES tab on this web site.

“The strongest animals on earth are plant eaters. Every creature we’ve enlisted to do the work we couldn’t handle—the horse, donkey, elephant, camel, water buffalo, ox, yak—is an herbivore whose huge muscles were built from plant protein, and whose strong...
