Our Magazine

For more than 30 years, The Animals Voice Magazine has been (and has remained) in print since the early 1980s. It began as a newsletter produced on a typewriter and eventually became an award-winning, pivotal, international voice for animals and the people who defend them.

Remembering Tom Regan

Fondly remembering philosopher and animal rights activist and teacher Prof. Tom Regan. Regan was one of the founding fathers of the modern-day animal rights movement; his formidable views and compelling writings will forever stand the test of time.

Fish Nation

The most slaughtered group of animals on earth are fish (0.97-2.74 trillion each year worldwide). Here you will learn about their desperate and often ignored plight, but also about their intelligence, sentience, and beauty. They’re so much more than just “seafood” and wall decor.

Before It Was That

Before it was bacon or fried or dairy, “it” was a living, breathing, feeling creature whose life mattered as much to “it” as ours do to us. Our Before It Was That site puts faces on the animals who would otherwise remain hidden from view.

Vegan Soul

If it’s true that you are what you eat, then living on life foods is the only way to remain true to the soul. Here you will find articles about living a plant-based lifestyle, a site that is complete with recipes, vegan shopping, and life-changing resources.

Resources

Video, picture galleries, books, tools of the trade, all of those things and more that you need to defend animals can be found on our Resources site. If we don’t have what you’re looking for here, we certainly provide the places that do.

Humane Travel

Understanding that most tourists don’t realize they support animal cruelty when they travel outside their own countries, we have created a web site devoted exclusively to teaching them both what to do while traveling and what not to do.

Kingdom Keepers

We sing the songs of the unsung heroes: the animal defenders on the frontlines and in the trenches, those uniquely gifted people who work tirelessly—and without much fanfare—to rescue animals from dire circumstances, often giving them forever homes. Hats off!

The Great Minds

Defending animals isn’t a new concept: people throughout history have been speaking out on behalf of animals—from the earliest philosophers and writers to legislators and other scholars. Herewith is a collection of humane thought from our humble beginnings until now.

God and Animals

What we do to animals in the name of our gods is unconscionable. At the same time, many religions speak to our obligatory duty to defend animals against cruelty. Humane stewardship is a message we can better amplify throughout the world.

Animal Writes

There has never been anything more powerful than the pen—or written word. Investigative reports, opinions and commentary, in-depth articles and essays, as well as poetry and prose, are tools we use to defend animals across all languages.
